The Responsible Care® program was developed in 1985. This initially Canadian program, was adopted in the U.S.A. and spread throughout Europe as well. Nowadays Responsible Care® principles can not be left out our society.
In the Responsible Care® program, which focuses on safe and environmental manufacturing, many developments were introduced. The Responsible Care® Guiding Principles are further developed towards 7 Codes of Practice. These codes of practice aim on Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER), Employee Safety & Health, Product Stewardship, Process Safety, Distribution, Pollution Prevention en Security.
Responsible Care principles are stimulated globally (for instance via the Global Reporting Initiative). Individual chemical associations (such as ACC, Cefic & VNCI or the VHCP) developed own guiding principles and standards to implement Responsible Care. More information can be found on http://www.responsiblecare.org/ and www.vnci.nl.
We support our customers with implementation of Responsible Care®.
