5 S

The 5 S program was developed in Japan and is based on 5 Japanese words which describe a standardised "clean up". The concept is being used in the lean manufacturing method and enables increased efficiency and safety. By ordening work places (office and operational work places) the work processes become clearer. Double activities can be prevented. Tools and equipment are present when needed and safety is increased. The methodoly almost always leads to improvements.

5 S is derived form:

  • Seiri
